Michael Allen, 26, has joined the Free Press as a reporter. Allen holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and journalism from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. He has been a news researcher, reporter and editor for the Associated Press in New York City and has reported for a variety of Midwest papers.
