I know what I am about to say is not popular but it’s pure truth. I will not vote for Obama unless he picks Clinton as a running mate. I honestly will go ahead and vote Republican for the first time ever. I am just one of millions. She brings all to the ticket that he does not.

    Sue,

I try to stay out of the comment area and leave that to my readers but your position, which I’ve heard ad nauseum, is quite curious to me. What exactly does Sen. Clinton bring to the ticket?

Your position seems self-defeating to me. Since Obama is the nominee, it should not matter to you who his vice president is. Especially if you’re a Democrat. Are you saying that McCain will try to accomplish the agenda that Sen. Hillary Clinton would?

The choice is pretty clear: Vote for McCain or Obama.

Would another woman (there are several female governors, for instance, who would presumably add the same things to the ticket Mrs. Clinton would but without her baggage and without a history of having told the world repeatedly that Obama won’t win, can’t win, must not win) be good enough for you?

I would really urge you to vote for McCain, if that’s what you’re inclined to do. No more threats. No more hostage demands.

Mrs. Clinton simply won’t do. Triangulation, lies and Republicanism Lite (Clintonism, in other words) is dead. Obama and his legion of new voters buried it. It has nothing to do with her gender. The nation must simply move past Clinton and Republican cynicism, corruption, lies and divisions.

It would depend on the woman and her experience and agenda, but that might be an option for me. I did not mean to ruffle your feathers. Wow Michael…

    Sue,

You are right, I did blow a gasket there. I should have simply welcomed you as a reader to my blog and left it at that. I’ll try to stay out of here in the future. It’s just that, for any real Democrat or true progressive in this country, McCain is simply not an option.

As for a woman, Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius has a record of accomplishments that would rival any political leader in this nation. She not only campaigned for Sen. Obama, she has never said anything about him that the Republicans could use against him in the fall campaign. I am sure there are other accomplished women in this great land of ours who could also be vice president.
